Steve Bannon's prediction: The first 100 days of the Trump Administration will define the future of the United States

The former White House strategist said the policies to be implemented could set the stage for the next 50 years.

Steve Bannon, the former Trump adviser who helped set the White House agenda during the former president's administration, detailed his vision for the first 100 days of Trump's second term if he wins the next presidential election.

In an interview for The Epoch Times, Bannon compared the start of a new Trump Administration with the era of Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), highlighting that just as FDR laid the foundation for the administrative state, Trump's second term would mark the beginning of the deconstruction of that system and create the foundations for policies that would last 50 years.

"FDR, in his first hundred days, started the foundations of building the administrative state, the deep state. The first 100 days of President Trump, I think you'll see the beginning of the deconstruction of that and the destruction of the deep state, along with dozens and dozens and dozens of other policy proposals," he said.

The first policies

Bannon, who was chief White House strategist during the Trump Administration, predicts that the first policies would focus on tariffs, border security and reviewing geopolitical alliances.

He also commented that much of the agenda could be implemented through executive orders or the reinstatement of existing laws. However, he acknowledged that some issues would need the cooperation of Congress to move forward.

A difficult start

Bannon also anticipates a scenario of strong tensions during the first days of the second term. "I think President Trump's first days will be very dramatic. They will come at him from every different angle," he stated.

Despite that, Bannon said that if there is something that differentiates the year 2016 from this one, it is that "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) now has a real institutional presence in Washington, in addition to a solid base of followers that will allow Trump to achieve his goals.

A nationalist approach

Bannon stated that the former president has carried out an anti-globalist campaign, so his focus would be on the defense of internal interests and even adversaries could align themselves with those policies.

"I think you'll see populist, nationalist people that are fully on board with the outlines and directionally on board with President Trump's policies," he said.

Policies that last

Bannon said he envisions a MAGA political agenda that lasts for decades and matches FDR's New Deal coalition. According to the strategist, if the agenda is implemented correctly, Trump's policies could last half a century.
