Jacob Chansley, better known as the “QAnon Shaman,” wants to represent Arizona's 8th congressional district.
Chansley will be the Libertarian Party candidate, according to paperwork submitted last week to the office of Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes. He will compete for the seat currently held by Republican Debbie Lesko, who will not seek re-election.

Known for his participation in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, especially for his clothing: a fur hat with horns and red, white and blue face paint, he was sentenced to over three years in prison for his involvement in the events of that day. However, he was released 14 months early.
