Missouri Democratic Party deleted a tweet in which it suggested burning down the home of a Donald Trump supporter

Although the comment was removed, some Twitter users managed to capture the post and share it through the social network.

The Missouri Democratic Party made a social media post suggesting that a Donald Trump supporter’s home adorned with campaign signs from the Republican candidate should be burned down. They later chose to remove the comment.

The political party used its Twitter account to respond to a question posed by Democratic politician Jon Cooper about what his supporters would do if their next-door neighbor had their house filled with Trump political propaganda.

Many users responded to Cooper’s question. However, the response that was probably the most surprising was from the Missouri Democratic Party as they made a comment suggesting that the Republican supporter’s house should be burned down using the lyrics from the 1983 hit song, “The Roof is on Fire,” by Rock Master Scott and Dynamic Three.

“The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire, we don’t need no water, let the ‘insert your word’ burn!” the party commented.

Shortly after that, the post was removed, but already some users had taken screenshots of the comment and shared them along with a critique of the violent suggestion.

“Here’s the Missouri Democrat Party advocating for a Trump supporter’s home to burn down. Sick,” commented Missouri Republican Senator Josh Hawley, highlighting that there is no place for that kind of “disgusting, violent rhetoric in Missouri.”

“No big deal, just the official account of the Missouri Democrat Party openly calling to burn down the homes of Trump supporters,” Donald Trump Jr. also opined.

Suggestions from other users

While the Democratic Party made violent suggestions, other users advised Cooper to move, join his neighbors, or just leave them alone.
