Microsoft surpasses Apple and becomes the most valuable company in the world

According to the latest closing, the company founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak has a value of $2.89 trillion, slightly higher than its direct competitor.

Apple started the year off with unexpected news. This Thursday, the stock market value of the company founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak fell 0.3% and lost its status as the most valuable company in the world. That category is now occupied by Microsoft.

Microsoft’s stock market capitalization increased by 1.5%, placing its value at $2.9 trillion. Apple is valued at with its collapse, its competitor has a $2.89 trillion, according to Reuters.

It has been three years since the last time Microsoft was ahead of Apple. Before 2021, Microsoft had a higher valuation than its competition on several occasions.

That’s not the only negative news for Apple since 2024 began. In the first 11 days of the year, the cost of its shares have plummeted 3.3%. In contrast, Microsoft shares continue to increase. They have gone up 1.8% from January 1 to the last close.
