The Boston Celtics and the Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streaks in the NBA on Saturday as LeBron James (Lakers) recreated an iconic play from his Miami years, with Luka Doncic playing the role of Dwyane Wade in a win against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Lakers are now in sole possession of fourth place in the Western Conference.

The top team of the regular season continued to showcase its exceptional form, as the Thunder (62-12) extended their winning streak to nine games with a 132-111 victory over the Indiana Pacers, fueled by another standout performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Canadian point guard, who is in a tight battle with Nikola Jokic (Nuggets) for the MVP award, finished with 33 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

Celtics approach playoffs "on fire"

The defending champion Celtics continue to warm up for their title defense in the playoffs, which begin on April 19. On Saturday, the Celtics posted their eighth straight win by beating the San Antonio Spurs 121-111 on the road.

Forward Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 29 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists while Keldon Johnson scored 23 points for the Spurs. Boston remains firmly in second place in the Eastern Conference (55-19), four wins behind the leaders Cleveland Cavaliers with seven games to play.

LeBron-Doncic chemistry allows Lakers to secure fourth place in the West

In Memphis, the Lakers secured a 134-127 victory over the Grizzlies, showcasing the growing chemistry between LeBron James and Luka Dončić as the playoffs approach. One highlight came when Doncic delivered a stunning no-look pass to James, who finished the fast break with a powerful dunk.

The cameras captured Doncic's satisfied gesture, with "King James" soaring in the background for the dunk. This moment recalled the iconic play LeBron and Dwyane Wade executed 15 years ago as teammates on the Miami Heat. Doncic finished the game with 29 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists, while James posted a stat line of 25 points, six rebounds, and eight assists.

Ja Morant, returning after a six-game absence, recorded 22 points and 10 assists for the Grizzlies, who played their first game since the unexpected firing of coach Taylor Jenkins.

Dallas goes undefeated with Davis

In Chicago, the Dallas Mavericks won 120-119 against  the Bulls and remain undefeated in the four games in which they have been able to count on Anthony Davis.

The center, landed in February in the surprising trade that sent Doncic to Los Angeles, signed 18 points and seven rebounds while rookie Matas Buzelis shined for the home team with 28 points and five three-pointers.
