Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence
Officers with the Palm Beach (Fla.) Police Department arrested a man as he attempted to scale one of the outer walls of President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence. The operation and subsequent arrest was initiated after members of the Secret Service located the subject and alerted the police.
The detainee is Bijan Arceo, about whom only his age—32 years—and a photograph of his face have been released so far. He is accused of breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime.
The events took place on Tuesday around 6:00 pm. According to police reports, Arceo was arrested as he was climbing one of the walls located near the north entrance of the Trump-owned compound.
"While the incident had no impact on our protective operations, we take these matters extremely seriously," the Secret Service said, in statements collected by Fox News.
He was then taken to police headquarters and incarcerated in the Palm Beach County Jail. Arceo could be released if he posts $20,000 bail.
