Miami Beach Police arrested a man outside Shakira's home for stalking the Colombian singer through social media and sending her gifts. He has been identified as 56-year-old Daniel John Valtier from El Paso (Texas).

According to the information, he was arrested after the singer's security team provided evidence to the police. Valtier had been asked to stop sending gifts to Shakira, but the concern deepened when the man posted on his social networks that he was heading to her house.

"According to the arrest affidavit obtained by CBS News Miami, the security director provided two separate recordings along with 'multiple social media posts' originating from Valtier," CBS detailed.

According to the affidavit, Valtier also sent packages to Shakira's home, including wine bottles, chocolates and toys. The singer and her security team immediately confronted Valtier, telling him to refrain from sending gifts and discontinue posting false information concerning Shakira's personal life. Shakira further informed police that she did not know Valtier and was worried about how he obtained her personal information, the affidavit stated.

Finally, Valtier appeared before a bond court this Tuesday. The judge ordered him to stay away from Shakira. "However, he told the judge that she was his 'wife'. He is currently held in jail on $100,000 bond," CBS detailed.

An Instagram account under the name Daniel John Valtier has several posts dedicated to the singer. There are also several photos and videos of Shakira. "She wants (to) be American like her father, and share the rest of her life with me," reads one of the posts.
