The first winter storm of the season continues to make its way across the country. It has been active since Monday and peaked Tuesday in the northwest and the Great Lakes, which have been the areas most affected by the heavy snowfall.

The alerts for heavy snowfall mostly ended at 7 a.m. Wednesday. However, the meteorological agency will keep some areas of the country on alert for the rest of the day as a precaution.
One dead during snowfall
Authorities warn of the dangers caused by the storm. In fact, a first victim has already been recorded due to the heavy snowfall. According to the police in Killington, Vt., a bus collided with a car on Tuesday afternoon, killing one of the drivers. Authorities detailed through a press release that Mark J. Candon, 71, died instantly and that two others were injured.
