Adidas chooses a man to present its new women's swimwear collection
The brand is facing significant backlash: Stop being woke! Riley Gaines bluntly declared: "Women's swimsuits aren't accessorized with a bulge."
Adidas launched its Pride 2023 swimwear collection this week, in which a visibly male model advertises swimsuits in the women's section. Specifically, it is a product called Pride Swimsuitwhich is priced at $70 and worn on the model in a parade on the company's website showing several close-ups of his chest hair and apparently male genitalia.
The German company's new line is the brainchild of South African designer Rich Mnisi and is called Let Love Be Your Legacy (and was launched on the eve of LGBT Pride Month, which is celebrated in June. According to the Adidas website, the collection is "a celebration of self-expression, imagination and the unwavering belief that love unites."
