USA announces its team for the Qatar World Cup
Chelsea's Christian Pulisic leads a young squad with hardly any surprises.
U.S. Men's National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter announced the 26 players who will represent the United States at the World Cup in Qatar. Chelsea's Christian Pulisic headlines what is otherwise a very young team. Though the roster did not waver from consensus expert predictions, the absences of goalkeeper Zack Steffen and striker Ricardo Pepi were cause for mild surprise.
After missing out on the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the American squad arrives in Qatar eager to prove its quality. Berhalter's team is potent on the attack and full of talent. It will be seen if the team can become more than just a sum of its parts.
