During President Donald Trump's administration, there has been a strong focus on ending inclusion and equity policies in schools. Recently, the administration has warned that it will take action, including cutting funding, if school districts refuse to eliminate DEI policies.

On February 14, 2025, the Department of Education sent a letter to its "esteemed colleagues," outlining the nondiscrimination requirements established by the Constitution and federal civil rights laws.

The decision holds added significance as it comes at a time when Donald Trump's second administration is advocating for measures to reduce the size of the government, including cutting unnecessary positions.

Meanwhile, in February, the Department of Education launched the "End DEI" portal to dismantle affirmative action practices associated with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies promoted by the Biden administration.

The portal is very simple. It claims its purpose is for "students, parents, teachers and the community in general to denounce illegal discriminatory practices in educational institutions."

A department infiltrated by "radicals, fanatics and Marxists"

During his campaign, Trump claimed that the Department of Education was being infiltrated by "radicals, bigots, and Marxists."

The president's claim doesn’t seem far off the mark. A report by Parents Defending Education, a parents' rights group, revealed that schools in at least 46 states have DEI policies.

According to the organization, more than 23,683 schools across 745 school districts have such policies in place. The report also highlighted that over 14,618,574 students are affected by these progressive measures.

Additionally, it was revealed that the organization is updating the list.

To verify the information, Parents Defending Education provides a list of schools implementing these policies and also includes links to the programs promoted in schools with DEI measures.
