In the latest example of plagiarism from the conservative handbook, Kamala Harris promised to back the cryptocurrency industry during a fundraiser on Wall Street.

It's the first time the Democratic candidate has named digital assets, according to Bloomberg, which covered Sunday's event. According to the same media outlet, $27 million was raised during the event, the most from a single event since she climbed to the top of the Democratic ticket.

The pledge is an attempt to reach out to young voters, who are most drawn to cryptocurrencies, and to tech entrepreneurs, to whom she also promised to favor innovation in artificial intelligence.

Donald Trump has been promoting cryptocurrencies since the beginning of his campaign, even promising to turn the United States into "the Bitcoin superpower of the world." In a moment that went viral days ago, he paid his tab at a bar using cryptocurrencies. A month ago, he unveiled his latest crypto project: a digital platform from the Trump Organization that seeks to challenge the dominance of conventional financial institutions.
