More than a week after the start of Hamas' terrorist attacks on Israel, Marco Rubio wrote a letter to Antony Bliken demanding that the country revoke visas from the jihadist group's supporters.

Rubio, who has represented the Sunshine State in the Senate since 2011, contacted the secretary of state to demand that he not allow Hamas supporters to enter the country. This includes anyone who supports the kidnapping and murder of Israeli civilians and soldiers.

"America is the most welcoming country in the world. During fiscal year 2022 alone, we issued more than six million non-immigrant visas. However, the privilege of entering and staying in our great country is not afforded to those who wish to do us harm or advocate on behalf of Hamas," wrote the Republican in the letter.

The senator bases his claim on existing laws, which state that those who promote terrorism should not enter the country. "Per 8 U.S.C. 1182, an alien is inadmissible into the United States should they represent 'a political, social, or other group that endorses or espouses terrorist activity.' The designation of Hamas as an FTO makes this a clear directive to institute a thorough review of all visa holders and applicants. This should include coordination with law enforcement, both federal and state/local, as well as universities."

Rubio assured in the letter that he plans to introduce legislation to Congress to ensure that those who support the terrorist group's activity cannot benefit from the United States' generosity.

The letter concluded with, “I urge you to immediately use existing law to eradicate this hatred in our country. In addition, I will be introducing legislation to provide further tools to ensure supporters of Hamas and other FTOs do not benefit from our country's generosity."
