Last Thursday, Donald Trump became the first former president in the history of the United States to have a mugshot taken. The image quickly went viral and was used by the former president's political enemies as well as by his own campaign, which is already selling mugs and T-shirts on its website. Less than 24 hours later, Joe Biden reacted to the mugshot while speaking to the press.

The president is currently vacationing in Salt Lake City, Nevada, and enjoying a few days with his family. As he left a Pilates session, which he attended with his daughter Ashley, reporters asked him about the mugshot of his most likely rival in the 2024 presidential election.

"Yes, I saw on TV(...) handsome guy," was the first reaction of the Democrat, who turned a deaf ear to the whistle that was heard when he left the establishment. In addition, he made it clear that he has no intention of seeing the interview that the tycoon granted to Tucker Carlson.

Biden was also asked about the Republican presidential debate, for which he had few positive words. "But what are they going to do to deal with economic growth? What are you going to do to deal with the idea of maintaining the pace of employment that we have now? What are they going to do to address education?" he concluded.

"I am innocent"

A half-hour after being released on bail, the former president gave his first statements to the press, explaining that "this is a very sad day for America."

Trump took advantage of the moment to declare his innocence and criticize the criminal system: "When you have that great freedom through challenge, you have to be able to otherwise you can have very dishonest elections."

"What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong and everybody knows that I've never had such support," the president continued. "We have every right, every single right to challenge an election that we think is dishonest," he said.
