Voters booed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell with shouts of "retire" during the Fancy Farm picnic in Kentucky over the weekend. The videos went viral on social media.

During the senator's speech, which lasted at least five minutes, people could be heard booing as they shouted: "lost the Senate," "retire" and "ditch Mitch." The Republican leader kept a straight face and moved forward without paying attention to the comments. "My friends, I'll be honest, it's not hard for Republicans to look good these days," McConnell said amid heckling.

McConnell has been in the news in recent days following his an incident during a press conference where he froze and did not move or speak before being escorted away from the podium. Last week, the senator appeared before the media and began talking about the National Defense Authorization Act he is working on. In the middle of his statements, the representative had a strange pause that lasted more than 20 seconds.

Following the situation, several Republicans showed concern for McConnell's health. "That obviously was troubling. I hope it was just a momentary issue and that he's doing better," Sen. Ted Cruz told Politico.
