Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner are getting divorced after nearly two decades of marriage

Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner are getting divorced. The actor, winner of a Golden Globe for the film Dances with Wolves (1990), and the designer have parted ways after more than 18 years of marriage and 25 years together. They have three children.
In a statement shared with CNN, Arnold Robinson, the actor's representative, said that "circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action. We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."
This is Costner's second divorce. In 1994, the actor and his first wife, Cindy Silva, called it quits after 16 years of marriage and three children together. At the time, it was one of the most viral divorces.
Four years after ending his relationship with Silva, Costner began dating Baumgartner and they got married in 2004.
