Indian-American businessman and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy urged Republican hopefuls Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley to abandon their respective presidential campaigns and endorse former President Donald Trump.
Following the results of the Republican caucuses in Iowa, Ramaswamy withdrew his candidacy, stating that he would ensure that Trump became the next president of the United States. As part of that commitment, he is now urging DeSantis and Haley to follow his example and abandon their presidential races to unite the party and ensure the recapture of the White House.
“I think Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley would actually, at this point, do this country and this party a service by stepping aside to make sure that we’re focused on not only nominating Donald Trump but getting this country back and reviving those founding revolutionary ideals,” Ramaswamy said during an interview with Jesse Watters of Fox News.
Although only one primary has been held, Ramaswamy believes the results have made clear what Republican voters want. “[They] sent a positive message to all of us that Donald Trump needs to be the nominee of this party,” he said.

Trump says Ramaswamy will work with him
Last Tuesday, Donald Trump spoke at a rally in New Hampshire about Ramaswamy. He congratulated the businessman for his work during his presidential campaign and announced that he will work with him in the future. “He’s going to be working with us, and he’ll be working with us for a long time,” he said.
Thanks to Ramaswamy’s strategic withdrawal and the support he has given to Trump, coupled with the former president’s recent announcement, rumors have emerged about the possibility of the businessman being Trump’s vice presidential choice.

However, the former president’s main advisor, Jason Miller, practically ruled out that option. “Pretty safe to say it won’t be Vivek,” he said.
It should be remembered that Trump already reported that he had chosen his running mate but did not plan to announce it yet.
