Javier Milei had lunch with Bill Clinton in New York during his whirlwind trip to the United States. The elected president of Argentina, who will take office on December 10, discussed his agenda with the Democrat, who gave him advice for his first weeks in the Casa Rosada. Chris Dodd, former senator and current White House advisor for Latin America, also participated in the meeting.
Accompanied by Karina Milei, Nicolás Posse, Santiago Caputo, the United States ambassador to Argentina, Marc Stanley, and Gerardo Werthein, the libertarian presented his economic and political agenda before Clinton and Dodd, who, according to Infobae, were “very excited.”
The Democrat, who occupied the White House between 1993 and 2001, advised Milei specifically to use the first weeks of his administration to advance the most important reforms. As for Dodd, he expressed to the Argentine the White House’s willingness to support and work with his government. When consulted by an LN+ reporter, the libertarian described the meeting as “wonderful.”

Milei will be received by Jake Sullivan at the White House
In the middle of lunch, it was confirmed that Javier Milei will meet with Jake Sullivan, Biden’s National Security Advisor, during his visit to Washington DC. Joe Biden will not be able to receive him since he will be traveling within the United States.
“We’ll have to see how this all plays out. Unfortunately, the president will not be able to see him because he will be traveling within the country. But, obviously, we want to continue looking for ways to cooperate with Argentina,” said John Kirby, director of Communications for the White House National Security Council, on Monday.
“Argentina is a vibrant partner on this continent on many issues. We are eager to hear the president-elect’s ideas and see where he wants to go on economic policy issues, making sure we have the opportunity to keep that line of communication open,” the official added.
Once in DC, Milei will hold meetings with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Treasury Department and the White House. “First, he will go to El Ohel [synagogue]to give thanks for the opportunity that Hashem[God] has given him. That will be in New York. Then he will go to work meetings in Washington,” La Libertad Avanza, Milei’s political party, announced.
The meetings will not be to request financing for any specific plan but rather to clarify the libertarian’s agenda for the next four years: fiscal adjustment, monetary reform, State reform and deregulation.
The trip was initially scheduled for Friday but was delayed due to the changes in his future cabinet.
