The Florida team defeated the Philadelphia Union 4-1 in the semifinal of the Leagues Cup which included an outstanding goal from the Argentine star.

Inter Miami will play in its first final in its history after beating the Philadelphia Union 4-1 in the semifinal of the Leagues Cup. Again, Lionel Messi was the clear protagonist, after scoring the second of the four goals for the Florida team with a great shot from outside the area that was impossible for the rival goalkeeper to stop. He now has nine goals in six games.

Jordi Alba made his scoring debut. Another of the David Beckham-owned club's new signings scored Inter Miami's third goal after receiving a sublime pass just seconds before the end of the first half.  The left back, Messi and Sergio Busquets shone and were reminiscent of the great times they spent together at FC Barcelona.

Inter Miami's other two goals came from Venezuelan forward Josef Martinez, and U.S. midfielder David Ruiz. Midfielder Alejandro Bedoya prevented the Philadelphia Union from leaving Miami with a clean sheet.

Inter Miami is looking to win its first title. They will face Nashville SC in the final this Saturday, which defeated Mexican Monterrey 2-0 in the other semifinal with goals from English striker Sam Surridge and American attacker Fafá Picault.
