France: Versailles Palace evacuated again due to bomb threat

The emblematic building already had to be closed last Saturday due to fear of a terrorist attack.

The Palace-Castle of Versailles was evacuated again this Tuesday due to a terrorist threat. The palace itself reported through its social networks that it would remain closed on October 17.

According to the French news network BFM TV, the decision to evacuate was made after a bomb threat. The explosives deactivation service went to the affected area, as confirmed by the National Police. A suspicious package was found at the scene.

On October 14, a day after the death of a professor in an extremist attack in France, several bomb alerts forced the evacuation of the Louvre museum, the Palace of Versailles and the Gare de Lyon train station in Paris.
