The free market, Hamas and moving the embassy to Jerusalem: The results of the meeting between Milei and Netanyahu
The president of Argentina met with his counterpart from Israel, and the two seemed to get along in their first face-to-face.
Javier Milei met with Benjamin Netanyahu in his . Following the libertarian's pro-Israeli rhetoric during his campaign, he was moved to visit the Wailing Wall and took the opportunity to meet with "Bibi," who already called him a "friend" of his country.
The meeting took place on Wednesday morning and was divided into two parts: first a solo meeting, and then an expanded meeting with officials from both governments.
On the Israeli side, the minister of strategic affairs, the director of the National Security Council, the director general of the Prime Minister's Office, the prime minister's military secretary, the director of the National Economic Council, the prime minister's foreign policy advisor and the Israeli ambassador in Argentina all participated in the second meeting.
Speaking about their conversation, Netanyahu thanked Milei for his decision to declare Hamas a terrorist organization and for his "unwavering support" for Israel's right to defend itself. In turn, both leaders agreed to launch joint trade delegations in various areas.
Israel's own prime minister stressed that both share the "desire for prosperity, security and peace." He continued: "We know that the greatest challenge to peace in our area, but also in [Argentina], is Iran. And we appreciate the cooperation that we are maintaining with [Milei] in security and diplomacy," he added.

I thank you for your decision to declare Hamas a terrorist organization, your firm support for Israel and your decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the Argentine embassy there. Welcome friend!" Netanyahu posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
At the end of the meeting with Netanyahu, Milei visited the Holocaust Museum (Yad Vashem), where he gave a speech assuring that "modern Nazism today is disguised as the terrorist group Hamas." He then attended the planting of a tree in "The Forest of the Nations of the Keren Kayemet LeIsrael" and visited the Old City of Jerusalem.
The Argentine president began his trip to Israel accompanied by his sister and Secretary of the Presidency Karina Milei, Chancellor Diana Mondino and rabbi Axel Wahnish, who serves as Argentina's ambassador to Israel.
His agenda will continue with private meetings with Mexican businessman D. Isaac Assa and Israeli businessman D. Simon Falic, in addition to a meeting with Itzjak Yosef and David Lau, the chief rabbis of Israel.
