Jonathan Schanzer, an expert on the Middle East, reported through social media that Iran could be pressuring Hezbollah to join the war started by Hamas against Israel.

Since the Palestinian terrorist group attacked Israel last weekend, reports began to emerge about the possibility that Iran was behind the violent operation. However, this would not be the only effort that Iran would be making against Israel.

Schanzer shared via X that an Israeli source claimed that “Iran is pushing Hezbollah to join the war.”

The Lebanese terrorist group already participated in the war last Sunday when it launched an attack from southern Lebanon towards the Golan Heights as a supposed show of “solidarity” with Hamas.

“In solidarity with the victorious Palestinian resistance and the steadfast Palestinian people (...) the Islamic Resistance carried out an attack (...) targeting 3 Zionist occupation sites in the occupied Lebanon Shebaa Farms region (...) The resistance fighters used a significant number of artillery shells and guided missiles,” the Lebanese movement reported in a statement.

The Israeli army responded and warned Hezbollah that if it continued to intervene its country would be ready to defend itself. But this may not be enough to stop the terrorist group.

Links between Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah

Recent reports revealed that officers from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had been working since August with both Hamas and Hezbollah to organize an attack against Israel.

“Details of the operation were refined during several meetings in Beirut attended by IRGC officers and representatives of four Iran-backed militant groups, including Hamas, which holds power in Gaza, and Hezbollah, a Shiite militant group and political faction in Lebanon,” the report The Wall Street Journal states.
