More than 600 Israelis were killed in the recent terrorist attack. At least 1,864 people were wounded and more than 100 people have been kidnapped as part of the Hamas attack that has unleashed a new war in the area. The Israeli Defense Forces have since launched a counteroffensive called Operation Swords of Iron.

This Sunday, Hezbollah terrorists joined the attack against Israel by launching rockets from southern Lebanon towards the Golan Heights. Israel is trying to contain both of these attacks from the Gaza Strip, where terrorists continue to launch missiles against Israel.

The Israeli government's objective, which has already warned of a "long war" against the terrorism of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, is to neutralize the terrorist attacks, cleanse the area of the enemy forces that infiltrated Israel and begin a counteroffensive in the Gaza Strip. The Security Cabinet decided to halt the supply of electricity, fuel and goods.

We have begun the offensive phase, which will continue with neither limitations nor respite until the objectives are achieved. We will restore security to the citizens of Israel and we will win.

Operation Swords of Iron will fight terrorism and defend the civilian population

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched Operation Swords of Iron this Saturday, a large-scale operation to defend Israeli civilians from the Hamas terrorist attack and its allies.

In the last few hours, the IDF spokesperson reported that 400 terrorists have been killed in Gaza and dozens more are in captivity.

Meanwhile, one of the greatest concerns is both the whereabouts and status of the still undetermined number of civilians who were kidnapped by terrorists during the treacherous raid on several towns in southern Israel and the indiscriminate killing of civilians.
