3 dead, 4 injured after fight ends in gunfire in Detroit

Three men were killed and four others were injured in a shooting that occurred Sunday morning at a nightclub located in west Detroit, Michigan. According to police, the incident began with a fight that later escalated into gunfire. Authorities described the scene as an "after hours" establishment — that is, a venue that remains open beyond the usual closing hours for nightclubs.

After receiving a report of gunfire, officers from the Detroit Police Department arrived at the scene and found three men with fatal gunshot wounds. The victims were 30 years old or older, and their identities have not yet been released. Additionally, two men and two women between the ages of 20 and 30 were injured and taken to area hospitals.

"Regardless of what was occurring in this particular location. No one deserves to have their life ended or to be wounded by gun violence," said Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison.

"To the community, know that we will identify the individuals that are responsible for this heinous incident this morning, and we will do that in short order," he added, also noting that his team will work "tirelessly" to find those responsible.

In addition, Bettison confirmed that authorities had received seven calls related to that address since the beginning of 2026 and that they were also conducting an open investigation into the property.

So far, authorities have not announced any arrests related to the shooting. The investigation remains open as police attempt to determine what exactly sparked the fight and who was involved in the shooting.
