The famous rapper previously had very harsh words for the former president, criticizing his management in the White House.

Snoop Dogg surprisingly praised Donald Trump. In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, the rapper claimed to have nothing but "love and respect" for the former president despite having criticized him in the past. Specifically, he highlighted the presidential pardon of Michael "Harry-O" Harris, founder of Death Row Records.

When asked about the former Republican president, whom the artist has repeatedly condemned since he entered politics, he opted for a different rhetoric. "Donald Trump? He ain't done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris," he answered.

Harris, founder of the label's parent company, Godfather Entertainment, spent decades in prison after being convicted on conspiracy and attempted murder charges. At the time of his conviction in 1988, prosecutors alleged that Harris suspected a distant relative and an employee of stealing from his drug operation, so he had his accomplices drive them into the desert to kill them.

He took advantage of his stay in prison to found Death Row Records, a record label that produced hits by Dr. Dre, Snoop and Tupac, gaining momentum in the 1990s.

Trump granted him a presidential pardon on the last day of his term, for which Harris publicly thanked him afterward.

"I appreciate Donald Trump, his children, his son-in-law. Whyever he did it, he did it, when so many others wouldn't do it. I put in for clemency with Obama and it had to go through so many bureaucratic loopholes it never got to him, I don't believe. But it didn't happen on his watch," he expressed in the days after his release in January 2021.

"It was an awestruck moment. I'm riding in the car with my folks and we coming back from the prison. I just had a [peace] of mind and I said, 'I don't feel it.' They said 'What?' I said 'I don't feel what I just left'," he added.
