A shooting in Philadelphia has left at least two people dead and five others in critical condition, all of them between the ages of 19 and 33. This Tuesday night, the Philadelphia Police reported, that officers responded to an emergency call at the intersection between 6th Street and Allegheny Avenue for shots fired.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found four men suffering from gunshot wounds on Fairhill Street. They were immediately transported to Temple University Hospital, where two of those people were pronounced dead. Minutes later, three other injured people arrived, on their own, to Temple Hospital, as well as Episcopal Hospital and Einstein Medical Center. All of them were in critical condition, although their current conditions are unknown.

Philadelphia Police are currently investigating what happened. At the moment, Philadelphia Police Acting Commissioner, John Stanford, revealed, that they found five weapons, including a rifle, at the crime scene, as well as shell casings that showed that the weapons were fired up to 70 times. They also found drugs at the scene, although Stanford did not dare to confirm one hundred percent that the event was due to drug trafficking. This was asserted in statements collected by CBS:

I don't want to speculate but the fact that we know the amount of firearms recovered as well as narcotics recovered, this is a block that has had some narcotic activity. This isn't a block that we aren't familiar with. With that being said, I would say it's probably something connected to a narcotics trade but I'm not going to say that with 100% certainty.
