Illegal alien removals plummet 71% under Biden Administration

The Biden Administration's immigration policy reflects a 71% drop in the number of immigrants being deported compared to the same period recorded during the Trump Administration.

According to data provided by the Center for Immigration Studies, the number of removals nationwide dropped from 186,000 in FY2020 to just 59,000 in FY2021. The report, based on local and national statistics collected during the first nine months of the Biden Administration, notes that "immigration enforcement in the interior of the country has dropped dramatically under President Biden’s policies" in spite of the record immigration figures the country is going through.

Criminal deportations drop

Along these lines, deportations of convicted felons also declined by 25% under Biden, from 36,000 in FY2020 to 27,000 in FY2021. The Center for Immigration Studies notes that "although Biden officials say that the policies were established in order to prioritize the removal of the most serious deportable criminal offenders, in fact the result has been a decline in the removal of criminal aliens as well as other types of cases."

The study found that 51 jurisdictions experienced sharp declines in criminal removals of more than 90%.
