Trump demands Soros and his son be tried under RICO: 'We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America'

“George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests," President Donald Trump noted on his Truth Social account.

President Donald Trump has stepped up his offensive against billionaire George Soros and his son Alexander, accusing them of funding activities that he says seriously harm the United States.

In a message posted on hisTruth Social platform, Trump insisted that both should face charges under the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act, traditionally used for that purpose. The Republican leader said the Soros family's actions, through its Open Society Foundation, represent a direct threat to the country's stability.

“George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America. We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to “BREATHE,” and be FREE. Soros, and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our Country! That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends. Be careful, we’re watching you! Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Trump, in his message, also alluded to Soros' "Crazy, West Coast friends" without specifying names, and warned that his administration is keeping a close eye on their movements.

The Open Society Foundation, created by George Soros, has for decades been a mainstay in funding progressive initiatives globally, such as support for immigration movements and judicial reforms.

According to its official site, the foundation seeks to "promote bold, democratic solutions" to global challenges by supporting independent organizations that promote equity and justice. However, these activities have generated controversy, especially among conservative sectors, who see Soros as a central figure in promoting globalist agendas that, in their view, undermine national sovereignty.

Controversy with Soros

In the past, Trump and other Republican leaders have singled out the Soros family for its financial support of Democratic campaigns, progressive prosecutors and organizations that they say promote permissive policies toward crime.

Along those lines, Influence Watch, an organization that monitors activist movements, notes that Soros has backed a wide range of left-leaning groups in the United States, from those advocating stricter government regulations to initiatives seeking to reform the judicial system.

For his part, Alexander Soros, who has taken a more active role in running the foundation in recent years, has also been the target of similar accusations.

GOP v. Soros

Republican leaders and lawmakers, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, and Tom Cotton, have charged that the Soros foundation's funding of progressive prosecutors has led to policies that they say prioritize leniency toward criminals over public safety.
