The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, had the support of thirteen counterparts regarding his actions and the measures he is taking to defend his state from all the dangers that the border crisis brings with it - such as fentanyl or organized crime.- A situation derived from the management carried out by the Biden Administration.

Those thirteen governors who supported Abbott are: Sarah Huckabee Sanders (Arkansas), Brian Kemp (Georgia), Brad Little (Idaho), Eric Holcomb (Indiana), Kim Reynolds (Iowa), Jeff Landry (Louisiana), Tate Reeves (Mississippi), Mike Parson (Missouri), Greg Gianforte (Montana), Jill Pillen (Nebraska), Chris Sununu (New Hampshire), Bill Lee (Tennessee) and Spencer Cox (Utah). All of them are from the Republican Party and were present at a press conference that Abbott called in Eagle Pass.

The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, was not present in this new closing of ranks, although he made his position clear by sending the National Guard and the State Guard to Texas to assist Abbott.

"Biden has abandoned his constitutional duty to protect Americans"

A few days ago, Abbott issued a statement in which he harshly attacked President Biden for not respecting and even violating federal laws regarding immigration:

The federal government has broken the pact between the United States and the States. The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now. President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them. The result is that he has smashed records for illegal immigration.

After these statements, Abbott reiterated his criticism of the Biden Administration for its neglect when it comes to defending national security and the interests of citizens:

President Biden has abandoned his constitutional duty to protect Americans by refusing to secure our southern border. During his presidency, Joe Biden has smashed records for illegal immigration and allowed total chaos to be unleashed along our southern border. Instead of upholding immigration laws already on the books, President Biden sent his lawyers into federal courts to sue the State of Texas for doing the job he should have been doing all along. Half of America’s Governors, including those here with me today, have banded together to make one thing clear: Americans stand with Texas and our right to protect and defend our state from the crisis at our southern border.

Republican unity

Some of the governors who accompanied Abbott in Eagle Pass reflected their firm support for the Texas governor and their frontal opposition to Biden. One of them was Sarah Huckabee Sanders (Arkansas), who described the border management being carried out by the president as a "failure":

Another of those who gave his opinion was Greg Gianforte. The governor of Montana noted that the best way for a country to prosper is by securing its borders:
