An Israeli mother, whose two children were kidnapped by Hamas, attacks an MSNBC anchor for a controversial question
Journalist Andrea Mitchell pressed the woman, asking her about Israel's retaliation against Gaza.
A video clip is circulating of an Israeli mother who harshly criticized MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell after she asked her about Israel's attacks on Gaza following the Hamas' terrorist aggression in Israeli territory.
“I can't be understanding,” said the mother, whose two sons, ages 12 and 16, were kidnapped by Hamas.
"I can't be sympathetic to animal human beings — well, they're not really human beings — who came into my house, broke everything, stole everything, took my children from their bedrooms and took them to the Gaza Strip," said the unidentified mother when pressed by the MSNBC host. The news network has faced criticism in recent days for its accommodating editorial line toward Hamas attacks.
"Israel never done that, and it will never do. So there is no symmetry! I'm sorry," added the mother of the kidnapped young boys. "If you were dealing with a war who is between two countries, countries don’t take children hostages. I’m sorry. It’s against the laws of war. It’s against humanity. It’s against anything that we all believe in.”
“Every time we had missiles shot at us, I used to say to my children that they should be sympathetic towards the children of Gaza because they suffer a lot more than they do,” she explained visibly affected by the situation. Additionally, she asked the Government of Israel to make rescuing the hostages a priority.
"I think any mother in the world should try to imagine their children in that situation and then think again," she added.
