A new path for Mexico: the conservative star Eduardo Verástegui registers his candidacy for the presidency

The renowned producer of 'Sound Of Freedom' asked citizens to leave behind failed policies to build "the Mexican dream."

The renowned actor and human rights activist, Eduardo Verástegui, announced that he registered with the National Electoral Institute (INE) of Mexico as an independent candidate for the Mexican presidency.

After the success he obtained as a producer of the film Sound of Freedom, Verástegui decided to take on a new career path with the hope of eradicating corruption and impunity and fighting for the freedom of Mexico.

Verástegui explained on social media that, after considering it for a period of time, he decided to make the most important decision of his life and register with the INE for the June 2, 2024 elections.

"My fight is for life. My fight is for freedom. It is time to remove the same old people from power. Our country needs a new way of doing politics, to eradicate corruption and impunity. We are on time! Let's take everything that we have, for our Mexico!" he wrote in a post.

Much more than an artist

Although Verástegui has been recognized for his career as an actor, singer and producer, his interest in social and political activities began several years ago. The producer's conservative values have led him to promote Catholicism, defend life after conception and protect traditional families.

Verástegui is currently the president of the Viva Mexico Movement, which according to its website, is dedicated to "uniting and enhancing the efforts of civil society, and working for a renewed Mexico."

His human rights activism led him to be at the forefront of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that was held in Mexico. There he demonstrated his commitment to the country and his position on "socialist threats", "dangerous" mass migrations, "unscientific ideological environmentalism", among other issues of great social and political relevance.

Verástegui asks to dream big

In a video posted on social media, Verástegui asked Mexicans to dream of a country in which God is the center of the nation and in which there is no need to migrate due to necessity or lack of opportunities.

"Let's build the Mexican dream together (...) I dream of a safe and violence-free Mexico where parents do not fear for their children's lives. I dream of a country where we recognize that we are all equal in dignity," said the presidential candidate, adding that he seeks to defend the lives of the most vulnerable and lead the country on a path of innovation and growth.
