The deceased, the AP reports, was George Jean Haynes, 67. His cousin, Lester Campbell, confirmed his identity to the news agency and assured that his relative had died at 2:18 a.m. local time due to "multisystem trauma," as he had been notified by Jones County Coroner Don Sumrall.
Rankin and Jasper Counties also affected by tornadoes
The town of Louin was not the only one to experience the ravages of the storm. According to Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, several tornadoes also touched down in Rankin and Jasper Counties on Monday.
Multiple confirmed tornadoes in Mississippi overnight - Rankin County just southeast of Florence and Jasper County from Louin to Bay Springs to Turnerville.
Emergency crews are doing additional SAR missions and damage assessments in both areas now - with drones in those areas…

At these points, emergency services are still conducting search and rescue missions and assessing the damage caused by the tornadoes. They have deployed several drones in some areas that are currently difficult to access due to the collapse of multiple power lines.
