Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant assured the media Monday that Hamas no longer controls the northern Gaza Strip. According to authorities, Israel Defense Forces troops are advancing at a good pace to capture all of Gaza City.

In his press conference, Gallant assured that the ground operation against Gaza eliminated all significant remaining points of resistance. "There is no force of Hamas capable of stopping the IDF. The IDF is advancing to every point. The Hamas organization has lost control of Gaza. Terrorists are fleeing south. Civilians are looting Hamas bases. They have no confidence in the government," said Gallant after an evaluation of the fighting on Monday.

Gallant's words are supported by the facts. This same Monday, Israeli soldiers from the Golani Brigade, at the forefront of the offensive against Gaza, photographed and recorded themselves in the Gaza legislature building in the heart of the city.

In the images, the soldiers pose with flags representing their brigade and Israel at the headquarters of the Palestinian Legislative Council after capturing it. According to The Times of Israel, the building served Hamas' military purposes in recent days.

Rocket fire continues from Gaza

Despite Defense Minister Gallant's announcement, new rocket launches were recorded Monday from inside the Gaza Strip against Israeli territory. Air defense systems intercepted rockets over Tel Aviv and Ashkelon. No damage or casualties were reported.

It is the first rocket attack since Friday, marking a drastic drop in the number of rockets fired at Israel compared to the previous days of the conflict.
