Rapper and influencer Lil Tay announced dead at 14 years old
The young woman and her 21-year-old brother died of unknown causes. The family announced that they are investigating what happened.
Controversial rapper and influencer, Lil Tay, has died at the age of 14. The young woman, who rose to fame at age 9, and her 21-year-old brother died of unknown causes, the family said in a post on Instagram:
Claire Eileen Qi Hope, real name of Canadian influencer Lil Tay, rose to prominence in 2018. That year, ABC reports, she starred in several videos in which she was seen sitting in luxurious cars surrounded by money. These videos made her go viral and months later, the young woman starred in a documentary in which she narrated her rise to fame entitled "Life with Lil Tay." Her popularity was not over because, that same year, the young woman became embroiled in controversy after denouncing her father's abuse.
After this, Lil Tay started posting less on the networks. In fact, her last post is from June 2018 when she offered a rememberence to 20-year-old rapper, XXXTentacion. He had passed away after being shot several times in Broward County, Florida and the influencer wanted to remember him with this message:
