Somos Votantes and its sister organization, Somos PAC, announced Wednesday that their joint investment to engage and mobilize Hispanic voters during the 2026 election cycle reached nearly $20 million, which, according to the organizations, represents one of the largest independent civic and electoral engagement efforts targeting Latinos ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm election.
Since August, both left-wing organizations have launched programs in several states. The rollout began with a $6 million investment in Texas, followed by $1 million in Wisconsin, $4 million in Arizona, $3 million in Michigan, and $3.6 million in Nevada.
The total amount also includes an initial investment of $500,000 from Somos PAC as part of a $1.5 million spending campaign on television and digital platforms carried out in partnership with the LCV Victory Fund. This program began in July and targets Rep. Bill Huizenga (MI-04) and Rep. Eli Craine (AZ-02) over rising utility costs.
In addition to this investment, there is a new $500,000 expenditure in California's 22nd congressional district.
"This investment reflects something simple: Latino families are working harder than ever just to keep up, and they deserve to be heard," said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos Votantes.
Morales noted that the organization's teams are going door-to-door in states such as Texas, Michigan and Nevada, participating in community events and meeting with voters to provide them with resources and information.
According to the leader, this work aims to build "the kind of real, lasting trust that meaningful civic participation requires" and represents a continuation of the organization's year-round efforts in these communities.

Investment focused on the Hispanic vote
Morales, who is also the founder and president of Somos PAC, stated that Latino voters have the power to decide who controls Congress and the states in November.
"They aren't looking for parties that show up once and disappear on November 4th — they're looking for real leaders who do the work and don't take their vote for granted," she said.
Somos PAC stated that its efforts include door-to-door canvassing and digital advertising, direct mail, and radio ads, with messages focused on highlighting the difference in who is working to lower costs for working families.
In another statement included in the announcement, Morales maintained that the investment will allow organizations to reach Latino voters "at their doorstep, online, and in their community," especially on issues such as the cost of living.
Cost of living among the top concerns
According to the organizations, the announced investment is based on their track record of developing independent civic and voter engagement programs targeting Latinos, as well as on their latest national and state polls conducted earlier this year.
According to those polls, the cost of living has become a dominant and growing concern among Hispanic voters.
Somos Votantes and Somos PAC noted that 64% of respondents said costs had risen "significantly" over the past year. Among the top concerns are food prices, with 62% considering them a matter of extreme concern, and healthcare costs, at 59%.
The organizations also noted that voters blame politicians over businesses for abusive price hikes by a ratio of 3 to 1.
They also noted that voters attribute Republican economic policies—including tariffs, military spending and cuts to health and food programs—to inflation more than Democratic policies by a two-to-one margin.
According to the press release, Trump's war with Iran has also become one of the Republican Party's main vulnerabilities, with majorities directly linking it to rising inflation (65%), gas prices (64%) and costs to taxpayers (63%).
Somos Votantes and Somos PAC
According to its own description, Somos Votantes seeks to promote Latino participation in democracy primarily through nonpartisan civic engagement programs, in addition to advocating for progressive policies.
Somos PAC focuses on electing progressive candidates.
