The Trump administration withdrew Secret Service protection from former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Joe Biden had extended his coverage for six months, but the Republican president decided to end it just two months into his White House tenure.

Although he did not personally write about the matter, the Executive leader shared on his Truth Social account a publication by Dustin Mills in which it was noted that it was Donald Trump himself who personally gave the order.

The Secret Service confirmed the measure

The measure, which was communicated on Friday, was confirmed to several media outlets by the Secret Service on Monday afternoon. Thus, The New York Post spoke with an agency spokesperson, who stated: "By executive memorandum of the president, the protective service for former Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has been suspended. To ensure the integrity of our operations, we cannot comment on the specifics of our means and methods of protection."

Trump's move comes just a week after Secret Service protection for Biden's children, Hunter and Ashley, was removed. In January he had done the same with Anthony Fauci, claiming he could afford his own security himself. Retired general Mark Milley was also stripped of his personal security detail.

However, the first to see their taxpayer-paid security devices removed were former national security adviser John Bolton and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, as well as Brian Hook, who also advised Trump during his first term.
