The special counsel Robert Hur, who supervises the investigation of the discovery of classified documents in several properties related to Joe Biden -in his office at the offices of the Penn Biden Center think tank (Washington, DC) and at his residence in Wilmington (Delaware)-, he interviewed the president at the White House between Sunday and Monday.

Biden attended the meeting with Hur on a "voluntary basis," explained Ian Sams, spokesman for the White House Counsel's Office, in a statement which was later reported by The Hill.

"The President has been interviewed as part of the investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Hur. The voluntary interview was conducted at the White House over two days, Sunday and Monday, and concluded Monday," Sams confirmed. "As we have said from the beginning, the President and the White House are cooperating with this investigation, and as it has been appropriate, we have provided relevant updates publicly, being as transparent as we can consistent with protecting and preserving the integrity of the investigation."

Similar to the discovery of classified material at Donald Trump's residence in Mar-a-Lago (Florida), this case has not had such a media impact.

Findings from classified documents

Although on January 10, 2023 we learned that the FBI found classified material on a Biden property, the search occurred in November, before the midterm elections. It was in his office at the Penn Biden Center.

In three searches that occurred between January 12 and 22, the FBI located more classified documents at Biden's residence in Wilmington.

A fourth search occurred on February 1, this time at the president's beach house located in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. On that occasion, notes handwritten by Biden during his time as vice president were found, although none of them had the classified seal.
