A majority of citizens rate the ethics of Joe Biden's administration officials as negative. This was revealed in the first poll of its kind since the president took office.

The study published by Gallup detailed that four out of 10 people say that the ethical standards of Biden administration officials are "excellent" (8%) or "good" (34%), while the majority see them as "not good" (18%) or "bad" (37%).

Administration ethics affected by Biden scandals

In general, the administration’s ethics score stood at 42%. and, although it is above the 38% figures recorded during Donald Trump's administration, it is lower than the scores of all other presidential administrations since Ronald Reagan, which range from 50% to 74%.

The poll detailed that the poor opinion of citizens, mainly Republicans, about the ethics of Biden administration officials was affected by the corruption scandals related to his son. "Biden began his presidency by signing an executive order on ethics, committing his administration to certain high standards for doing the public's business and avoiding personal conflicts of interest," the study said.

The data is released at a time when the Biden administration continues to have low approval ratings. A Quinnipiac University poll last month showed voter dissatisfaction with Biden's tenure. His approval continues to be low (38%), while 54% said they disapprove of his work as commander-in-chief. In addition, voters said the issues they consider in deciding their vote are the economy and the defense of American democracy. Abortion, gun violence and immigration are the other issues of concern to Americans.
