Biden vetoes bill blocking student debt forgiveness
The president has accussed congressional Republicans of trying to prevent "economic relief" for "middle and working class Americans."

Joe Biden signed the veto of the law approved by Congress that cancelled the student debt cancellation, one of the flagship measures of his Administration. The president justified this initiative because he "won't back down on helping hardworking folks."
The rule is a Republican initiative, but needed the support of Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Jon Tester and Independent Kyrsten Sinema to reach the President's desk. In a Twitter post, Biden was keen to point out that the move to block "relief" of up to $20,000 "to working and middle class Americans" came from members of the conservative party.
Biden: "It's wrong"
In the same combative vein, he denounced that "some of the same members of Congress who supported a bill that'd block student loan debt relief had millions of dollars in PPP loans forgiven. But when it comes to hard-working Americans getting student debt relief, that’s where they draw the line? It's wrong."
