This is what the new Fox News programming will look like: Who will replace Tucker Carlson?
According to reports, the station plans to fill its prime time slot with its three most popular hosts.
The departure of Tucker Carlson from Fox News was an earthquake in the structure of the media, given that he was its most popular anchor. Almost a month after his departure, the station has already found a replacement, of course, from within its ranks. According to reports, they are considering "multiple scenarios" involving their three top-grossing presenters.
Since Carlson's departure, Fox has taken his place, the 8 p.m. slot, with Fox News Tonight, an opinion show that constantly rotates hosts. For example, Kayleigh McEnany, Lawrence Jones and Brian Kilmeadeson have been among the names sitting in the driver's chair.
As reported by The Drudge Report, the wait may soon be over. Taking over the primetime slot would be Sean Hannity, while Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld would also move to primetime.
"Fox News is preparing to announce ambitious new programming, programming in which every hour of prime time will change," the Druge Report said.
Fox News came out to clarify the situation with a statement, in which it assured that"no decision has been made on a new primetime lineup and there are multiple scenarios under consideration."
Prior to the report surfacing, Watters, who currently co-hosts The Five, the network's top-rated show, was rumored to be tapped to fill Carlson's shoes. On the other hand, Gutfeld is doing very good numbers with his nightly program named after him, but with an exclamation point, Gutfeld!
What about Laura Ingraham?
Quickly, Fox consumers who saw the report wondered what place the popular anchorwoman would occupy, since her name did not appear in the new grid. Social networks were flooded with rumors about Ingraham's possible departure from the signal.
Fox News came out to deny these rumors. A spokesperson for the network asserted that "reports based on several tweets from left-wing activists are wildly inaccurate: Laura Ingraham, the highest-rated woman in cable news, is now and will remain a featured anchor and an integral part of the Fox News lineup."
