Musk reveals Twitter for censoring Hunter Biden story
Twitter suppressed the Hunter Biden story with extraordinary measures normally only used for child pornography cases.
After taking over Twitter, Elon Musk decided to bring to light what until now had been kept hidden about the case of Hunter Biden's laptop. Biden is a lawyer and the son of the current president of the United States, Joe Biden.
To inform the world of all that happened, Musk handed over the baton with a retweet to the thread created by American writer and journalist Matthew C. Taibbi.
Taibbi began the thread by explaining that his disclosure was part of a first installment based on "thousands of internal documents obtained by sources at Twitter."
The journalist confirmed that in the past, Twitter manipulated information that was posted on the site. He posted email evidence of these tactics, pointing out that they were becoming more and more routine.
"Celebrities and unknowns alike could be removed or reviewed at the behest of a political party," he said, adding that it was mainly the left that benefited from this.
How and why was Hunter Biden's story censored?
Taibbi began to delve into the case of Hunter Biden by recalling that the whole affair began on Oct. 14, 2020, when the New York Post published secret emails from Biden.
At the time, Twitter opted to suppress the story through the removal of links, releases of fake warnings and even blocking live streams and Twitter accounts such as that of White House spokeswoman Kaleigh McEnany. These measures are normally used only for "extraordinary" cases such as child pornography.
The journalist pointed out that, by then, several sources recalled having heard a warning from federal law enforcement about possible foreign hacks.
In the thread, Taibbi also noted that he has no evidence that the government had somehow intervened in the case, but he pointed out that this could have been the problem: "The decision was made at the highest levels of the company, but without the knowledge of CEO Jack Dorsey, with former head of legal, policy and trust Vijaya Gadde playing a key role," he said.
Gadde was Twitter's chief legal officer at the time The Post's story was buried and was behind the decision to suspend Donald Trump's account.
FBI may have omitted evidence of crimes
It should be recalled that in the middle of this year, Tony Bobulinski, Hunter Biden's former business partner, already asserted that the FBI had altered Hunter's laptop story just before the election because of how damaging it could have been to his father's campaign.
It was later claimed that U.S. agents manipulated the narrative, making it appear that it was all part of a "Russian disinformation" campaign. In addition, last Oct. 6, Attorneys General Eric Schmitt and Jeff Landry charged that the Biden Administration was responsible for pushing censorship on the issue on Big Tech platforms.
Biden may not have won the presidency
The results of a poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports revealed that 48% of voters felt that, had the whole story about Hunter Biden's laptop come to light before the 2020 election, it would have been unlikely that Joe Biden would have become President.
