Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, used the Hebrew greeting "shalom" and a smiley face in his return to Twitter. West's account was suspended for antisemitic comments a few weeks ago.

The singer's antisemitic posts turned out to be costly. In addition to the account suspension, West saw Adidas and other companies tear up their multi-million dollar contracts, alarmed by the repercussions of his words. Ye saw his net worth drop below billionaire status after losing his endorsements.

Multi-million dollar losses

The rapper announced last month that he reached an agreement to buy the social network Parler after being suspended on Twitter and Instagram, in both cases for antisemitic comments. Ye was banned from Twitter after a post in which he accused Jews of "toy[ing]" with him and "block[ing] anyone who opposes [their] agenda."

I'm a bit sleepy tonight, but when I wake up I'm going death con 3 [sic.]  On JEWISH people  The funny thing is I actually can't be Anti Semitic [sic.] because black people are actually Jew [sic.] also  You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball [sic.] anyone whoever [sic.] opposes your agenda

In the case of Instagram, the rapper was banned when he accused fellow rapper Diddy of being controlled by members of the Jewish community after he tried to silence the White Lives Matters campaign.
