Transgender teacher fired for threatening to shoot his students

A transgender teacher at Florida high school Fox Chapel was removed from his duties after he allegedly threatened to shoot students and inflict self-harm. The Florida Department of Education made the decision to remove Ashlee Renczkowski from his position after state officials raised concerns with Hernando County School District Superintendent John Stratton. According to data obtained by the parents' rights group 'Moms for Liberty,' a school resource officer assigned to the school was notified by Assistant Principal Kerry Thornton and Guidance Counselor Kimberly Walby last March 24 of the "troubling statements about self-harm" and the possibility of shooting students.

Thorton visited Renczkowski in his classroom and asked how he was doing. "It's not good, I'm having bad thoughts," replied Renczkowski, who according to official information is a biological man who is "currently in the transformation stage of becoming a woman." Assistant Principal Thornton took Renczkowski to her office for a quiet chat. There, Renczkowski explained that he had suicidal thoughts and a desire to "shoot some students because they are not performing up to their ability." Police removed three firearms from his home.
