Formula 1: Carlos Sainz wins the Singapore Grand Prix
The Spanish Ferrari driver made his 'pole position' count this Saturday and takes home his first win of the season.
Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz won the Singapore Grand Prix and secured his first win of this season and the second of his career in the most prestigious racing series. His first was at the 2022 British Grand Prix at the Silverstone Circuit.
The Spaniard started the race from pole position and did not miss his chance to earn his spot at the top of the podium.
From the wheel of his Ferrari, Sainz was flawless and led the race from start to finish. He knew how to hold off British racers Lando Norris (McLaren) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who finished in second and third place respectively. Mexico's Sergio Checo Pérez finished eighth and Fernando Alonso finished fifteenth.
With this victory, Sanz is ranked fifth in the overall standings with 142 points.
