Reggie Chaney, former University of Houston basketball player, dies at age 23
He was part of the team that made it to the NCAA Final Four in 2021. He was going to leave to play in Greece.
Reggie Chaney, forward for the University of Houston's 2021 Final Four team, died Monday at age 23. His cause of death was not immediately available.
Chaney, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was part of the 2021 University of Houston team that made it to the NCAA Final Four. The Houston Chronicle reported that he was all set to leave to play for AE Psychiko, a professional basketball team in Athens, Greece.
Chaney played two seasons with the Arkansas Razorbacks before transferring to the University of Houston, where he played three seasons.
Last season was his final season with the Cougars. The American Athletic Conference voted him Sixth Man of the Year.
