Trump administration reaffirms its commitment to defending parents' rights over their children: ‘The era of silencing, harassing and persecuting is over’
During his term in office, former President Joe Biden went so far as to label parents "domestic terrorists" for wanting to know about their children's education.

The promise made by President Donald Trump to defend parents' rights over their children remains in effect. The Department of Education (ED) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a letter to all state attorneys general in which they reaffirm that obligation assumed by the Trump administration at the start of its term.
In the letter, the ED and the DOJ urge "Attorneys General on notice that under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), parents have the right to know and be informed of the most sensitive and personal information pertaining to their children."
"The Trump administration’s message is clear: the era of silencing, harassing and targeting parents is over, and their rights under federal law are non-negotiable," they added.

Both agencies detailed how former President Joe Biden tried to "silence, harass and persecute" all those parents who went to school boards to find out what their children were going to learn in school, even going so far as to use the FBI.
"Five years ago, the Biden administration weaponized the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate parents who attended school board meetings, including setting up a dedicated snitch-line. The infamous October 4th memorandum came after the Biden White House coordinated with the National School Boards Association to label parents as 'domestic terrorists'," the departments emphasized.
Secretary of Education Linda McMahon noted that the previous administration viewed parents as "the enemy," making them "targets of attacks" by a government "weaponized against them."
"That era is over. The Trump administration is acting with unprecedented energy and purpose to restore parents’ natural rights as the primary protectors of their children," McMahon stated.
Biden targeted specific educational institutions solely for ideological reasons. For example, the former president launched a war against Christian colleges, imposing 70% of all sanctions against educational institutions on them.
