At least five people were killed Monday night in a shooting in Philadelphia. Police officers responded to a call around 8:30 p.m. EST that several people had been shot, including two minors (aged 2 and 13), according to local media reports). Authorities initially said four people died, but on Tuesday announced the discovery of a fifth body in the same neighborhood.

Police arrested a 40-year-old man who was reportedly wearing a bulletproof vest and seized several firearms and ammunition.

The mass shooting occurred southwest of the city and the suspect is in police custody. The victims were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition, according to police commissioner Danielle M. Outlaw, who said she did not know the motive for the attack.

Three of the deceased were between the ages of 20 and 59, while the fourth, who has not yet been identified, was estimated to be between the ages of 16 and 21. All of them were male. The two hospitalized victims are children, 2 and 13 years old.

After fleeing the area, officers managed to capture the shooter following a police chase. Another person who police believe may have fired at the gunman during the shooting was also taken into custody. The possible relationship between the two people is unknown at this time.

The shooter, a cross-dressing man identified as Kimbrady Carriker

In the last few hours, Kimbrady Carriker was identified as the suspect in the mass shooting, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. Some media outlets such as The Daily Mail, digging into the shooter's profile, revealed that he is a BLM supporter who made chilling Facebook posts about "black massacres" and "evil spirits."

Some Facebook posts by the alleged shooter show Carriker dressed as a woman, wearing a bra, hoop earrings and gold bracelets. According to the latest police investigations, there is not believed to be a connection between Carriker and any of the shooting victims.
