Huckabee accuses Hamas of derailing Trump's peace plan in Gaza: 'You know how many bullets they’ve given up? None'
The ambassador was unequivocal in detailing Hamas's failure to comply. "[T]he president has put together a very, very solid plan. He’s established the Board of Peace. This could be moving forward. It could be moving forward progressively. But the only reason that there’s any slowdown is because of Hamas," he said.

Mike Huckabee, U.S. Ambassador to Israel
The U.S. ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, stated on Wednesday that Hamas has not fulfilled its commitment to disarm and blamed the Islamist group for the stalemate in implementing the peace plan designed by President Donald Trump for the Gaza Strip.
"They’ve given up nothing"
In an interview on Fox News' "The Story" program, Huckabee was unequivocal in detailing Hamas's failure to comply. "[T]he president has put together a very, very solid plan. He’s established the Board of Peace. This could be moving forward. It could be moving forward progressively. But the only reason that there’s any slowdown is because of Hamas," he stated.
The ambassador emphasized that, despite having agreed to disarm, the group has not turned over any weapons whatsoever. "You know how many bullets they’ve given up? None. How many bombs? None. How many rifles, pistols? Zero. They’ve given up nothing," Huckabee said, according to reported Breitbart.
Trump brought them to the table, and they ignored him
Huckabee recalled that Hamas formally committed to laying down its arms as part of the peace agreement, but accused the organization of systematically failing to honor that commitment. "They promised they would. President Trump brought them to the table, and then they have ignored every bit of it. And they continue to fight and try to kill and kidnap Israelis, even while they’re cornered in Gaza," he said.
The ambassador emphasized that this dynamic is, in his view, the key to understanding why the process is not moving forward at the expected pace. "It’s the part of the story that I hope people will fully begin to understand," he added.
Trump's plan and the Peace Board
That framework was set out in the roadmap that the Peace Board, a body promoted by Washington, published in late July. The agreement, which Trump described as a monumental step toward lasting peace and security, entrusts the board with overseeing the process, including the dismantling of tunnels and reconstruction, with the support of an international stabilization force.
The transitional Palestinian administration, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, would take over police and civil affairs. Hamas would leave the government. One year later, the disarmament had not been carried out.
