President Donald Trump -who confirmed his presence- and the rest of the public attending Arthur Ashe Stadium this Sunday will witness the lastest showing offered by the two best tennis players of the moment. Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will face-off the final of the US Open 2025: a match that adds another chapter to one of tennis’s biggest rivalries.

The number one ranked and defending champion sealed his ticket to the US Open final after disposing of Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals in four sets (6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4). Sinner had to battle through some nagging physical issues to overcome his opponent.

"It's nothing too bad," Sinner said, at the end of the duel against Auger-Aliassime, regarding those discomforts he suffered. "I'm very happy. There are no excuses. Sunday is a very special day. An incredible final again. Let's see what happens."

With this win, Sinner has made it to the finals of all four Grand Slams this season, with a record, to date, of two wins and one loss.

For his part, Alcaraz, number two in the ATP ranking, swept Novak Djokovic in three sets (6-4, 7-6 and 6-2), depriving the Serb of achieving his twenty-fifth Grand Slam.

"It's a great feeling to be again in the final of the US Open, it feels amazing," the Spaniard declared on court. "Today was not my best level of the tournament, but I kept a good one from the beginning until the last point. It was very important to stay present."

While Sinner has dropped two sets throughout the tournament, Alcaraz reaches the US Open final without having lost a single set in the six matches he has played.

Third Grand Slam final this season in which they will face each other

It will be the third Grand Slam final this season that the number one and the number two in the ATP ranking will measure forces. In the French Open, Alcaraz ended up winning the title after coming from two sets down in what is considered one of the greatest amtches in history (4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6, 7-6).

Sinner took revenge and, at Wimbledon, got rid of the Spaniard in four sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4). The Italian also conquered the Australian Open this season, beating Germany's Alexander Zverev in the final.

Trump, present

The US Open final will be under the gaze of millions of people around the world and tens of thousands who will have the privilege of being able to watch the match from one of the seats at Arthur Ashe Stadium. One of them will be president Trump. The White House confirmed that the president will attend on Sunday to watch the clash between Sinner and Alcaraz, the new 'big two' of tennis.
