The country is facing a weekend of changing weather conditions, marked by the advance of a powerful cold front that will bring rain, storms, and a significant drop in temperatures across several regions, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service (NWS) and The Weather Channel.

For this Friday, October 16, the NWS warns of a risk of severe storms in parts of the Mid-Atlantic region. Cities such as New York, Philadelphia, and Boston could experience heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout the day, with the most severe conditions expected in the afternoon and evening, according to The Weather.

On Saturday and Sunday, the frontal system will give way to colder conditions in the Great Plains, the Midwest, and the eastern part of the country. Some areas may experience the first frosts of the season, while snowfall cannot be ruled out in higher elevations in the Northeast.

In the Southeast, AccuWeather warns of the possibility of high waves, coastal flooding, and rain due to a cold front stalling near the Atlantic coast. Meteorologists are also monitoring the possible formation of a storm, although its development remains uncertain.

Meanwhile, in Texas, the arrival of the cold front will bring cooler temperatures and lower humidity over the weekend, especially in the Houston area.

Weather authorities recommend staying tuned for forecast updates, especially in areas at risk of storms and flooding.
